About this episode
We explore the intricacies of decision-making in both our personal and professional lives. What tends to go wrong with when we’re in decision-making mode? How do we make good decisions, particularly when we’re under stress? And what’s the best way to respond when our decisions turn out badly and things don’t go as planned?
I’m delighted to be joined by Adrian Kelly, author of The Success Complex: Ancient Wisdom, the Building Blocks of Life and Your Path to Sustained Success published by Practical Inspiration Publishing. Once a struggling student who languished at the bottom of his class, Adrian knows first-hand the sting of failure. Three decades of experience as a solicitor, entrepreneur, business adviser and sports performance coach have enabled Adrian to develop a unique perspective on overcoming challenges and achieving success.
As we get anxious or under pressure, we have less access to our work and memory capacity, meaning we are more susceptible to making bad decisions.
Having allies and people who are knowledgeable, discreet, and authoritative in that area certainly helps as a touchstone for where our decision making is at.
One of the ways we can combat bad decisions is to predecide factors which will trigger a re-evaluation of a decision.
