About this episode
There’s a lot of talk about productivity and smarter working with new AI tools. But whilst they make help us to get more done in less time, how do we pay attention to the quality of our ideas and our solutions? How do we encourage creative thinking and problem-solving in our teams and organisations?
Joining me in this episode is Nick Staite, an innovation leader and adviser who helps clients to turn complex challenges into strategic opportunities through product, process, and digital innovation. He has worked in corporates, start-ups and not-for-profits, as Growth Hub Director at IMI Plc, as Founder and CEO of the network and streaming platform Bobab and as COO at the Planet Earth Institute.
The fear of failure and taking risks can really inhibit people's desire or ability to propose new ideas.
There's a huge risk within any corporate innovation programme or activity whereby innovation becomes an island. It becomes a thing that happens far away. No one really understands what's happening or why.
The most successful organisations strike a balance between not neglecting customers right now and thinking about what their customers are going to want and need in two, three, four, five years. Or indeed the customers they haven't even got yet.
